Soprano Alma Sadé was born in Tel Aviv into a family of actors and opera singers. She studied music at the Mannes College of Music in New York and has been performing at major opera houses across Europe since 2009.

She was a member of the ensemble at Deutsche Oper am Rhein and has been a permanent ensemble member of the Komische Oper Berlin since 2014. There, she has sung numerous leading roles, including Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Maria in West Side Story, as well as Jenny in Barrie Kosky’s acclaimed production of The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny.

In 2025, Alma Sadé made her highly successful debut at Teatro alla Scala as Anna I in Kurt Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins, receiving great enthusiasm from both audiences and the press. Her interpretation of Nanetta in Falstaff was also highly praised by critics. Online Merker wrote: “The finest vocal performance of international stature comes from Alma Sadé as Nanetta: a beautiful, rounded timbre, a technically brilliant soprano voice that also possesses great charm in the high pianissimi. A great listening pleasure. Brava.”

In the coming season, Alma Sadé returns to the Berliner Ensemble and will once again work with Barrie Kosky on the new production K, inspired by the life of Franz Kafka.
